One of the most popular soccer titles that’s been released in the past is the Pro Evolution Soccer series by KONAMI.
This game is usually released around late September and/or early October with two different titles: World Soccer: Winning Eleven in Japan, and Pro Evolution Soccer in other countries. The publisher is KONAMI, and they've released a new trailer for the next version of the game titled PES 2015, the first version of the game to make its way to the next-gen consoles Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
There was a very high expectation by the fans for PES 2014 after a successful PES 2013 with satisfied fans; however PES 2014 couldn't do the job. The fans weren't satisfied with what they were expecting, and what they got.
The new 'FOX engine' was great, with awesome realistic graphics in detail, but the game play was messed up. The game was released incomplete and shortly a huge update was rolled out. Summing up these things, PES 2014 was a failure. Moreover the fans loved PES 2013 over PES 2014.
Even dido_SMoKE released some updates for the patches of PES 2013, even if it wasn't planned. Let's leave these things behind, and personally, I am too expecting a come-back of KONAMI with PES 2015.
You can have a look at the new trailer below.
The video doesn't show much, but it does mention that the official game play reveal will happen on June 25. These titles normally have a tough time competing with the EA Sports FIFA series thanks to their licensing rights with the Premier League.
However, even with that challenge it has sold more than 80 million copies worldwide.
I do think that moving forward the series will have a tough time in competing the juggernaut that is FIFA, as that is the one game that most people think about for soccer. It will be interesting to see what Konami does in the future to make their game stand out, and hopefully attract more gamers.
